MeetGeek: An In Depth Review of the AI-Powered Meeting Assistant Revolutionizing Productivity

Updated: Aug 2

In the age of remote work and perpetual virtual meetings, staying productive and organized is harder than ever. Say hello to MeetGeek—an AI-powered meeting assistant that claims to upend meetings as we know them. At Reclaim Saturday, we’re obsessed with finding automation tools to streamline your workflow. Below, we present a breakdown of MeetGeek, the future, and creation of meetings.

MeetGeek is an AI tool that effortlessly captures notes, creates meeting summaries, and offers insights from your meetings. Whether you are a team lead, manager, client manager, or a solo contributor, MeetGeek tries to simplify meetings for you.

During each meeting, MeetGeek notes every spoken word to make certain not even a single thought is sacrificed. They transcribe meetings in real time using AI technology to offer easily findable meeting notes. After a meeting, your brief but precise meeting summary will describe the key points, decisions made, and the action items. This is important so that no one thinks they escaped the meeting without at least one action item no dragging them back to reality.

The AI registers and tracks the commitment (or less) of each participant to complete the action items they didn’t necessarily agree to take up. MeetGeek even reminds them a few times about the various action items they accepted when they stopped paying attention. The MeetGeek connects seamlessly with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and many more meeting and collaboration tools. Such tight coupling makes your data instantly available and facilitates your complete focus on your meeting.

MeetGeek also deliver information on the efficiency of meetings, who spoke the most (and the least), and what was spoken about the most, which is a bit much but it’s all in there. Privacy is a priority at MeetGeek. All your meeting transcription is encrypted, and the company claims to maintain privacy according to standard practices in the industry.

The Good and the Bad of MeetGeek

Good: It’s a lightning-fast, accurate, and always-ready meeting summary generator and a transcriber. MeetGeek is all about saving you time by never making you bother with those pesky meeting notes again and by reminding you to prompt your participants to work on their action items, which MeetGeek is tracking on your behalf. It also offers rich insights and analytics that can help you revolutionize your lousy meeting habits.

Bad: MeetGeek’s luxury plans and probably most of their plans are on the pricey side, particularly for a team that doesn’t always listen in meetings. It’s dependent on the AI, which means you might have to listen to your meeting twice to catch all the inaccuracies MeetGeek caught the first time. That said, MeetGeek is proven to save teams hours of time per week and we all know that time is more valuable than money. Most will find the value MeetGeek provides easily justifies the price.

MeetGeek Alternatives

Although Otter.ai also provides real-time transcription and collaborative note-taking, its free plan has a limited number of transcription minutes, which can be too little for some people. Its accuracy can be spotty because it does not handle industry-specific jargon or accents well. While Otter.ai does have integrations with Zoom and Microsoft Teams, its interface might be less pleasant to use than of other AI-based meeting assistants. Finally, the premium option may not offer enough advances in functionality for some users to justify the cost, particularly for smaller teams or individual users.

Fathom does automatic meeting notes, Fathom does create a quick automatic meeting summaries and tracks action items. It is no wonder that Fathom has fewer integrations than other AI notetakers. Fathom’s interface is slick and easy to use, but its premium plan can get expensive for small teams. Note that the focus of the tool is on summaries and on action items rather than on full transcription, which may or may not be a drawback, depending on the particular use case. Finally, we can’t be alone in missing integrations: fewer third-party integrations ultimately mean less polish and convenience.

Fireflies.ai offers rich transcriptions and search meeting notes, but its error rate can be problematic, raising the risk of misunderstandings. The UI is also less straightforward than other AI meeting assistants, potentially limiting how many users will adopt it. The most powerful features of Fireflies.ai are likely to be expensive, and thus out-of-reach for less affluent teams. Although Fireflies.ai integrates with an impressive array of collaboration tools, it may not perfectly meet the needs of users who prioritize accuracy and ease of use.
